Frequently Asked Questions

What do I need for on-device generation?

  • An iPhone or iPad running iOS 26 or later that supports Apple Intelligence.
  • Apple Intelligence turned on in the Settings app.
  • The on-device model must finish downloading. If the App says the model is still downloading, connect to Wi-Fi and try again shortly.

If on-device generation is unavailable, the App automatically uses Offline Templates, which need no AI and no network, so you still get a shader.

What is Studio?

Studio uses Apple's Private Cloud Compute model. It is shown as "Coming soon" and is not available in the current version.

Why didn't my free daily allowance go down?

The allowance is only used when an AI model produced the shader you end up with. Results served from the generation cache and results from Offline Templates do not count, and adjusting parameters never re-runs generation.

How do I restore my purchase?

Make sure you are signed in with the Apple Account you purchased with, then tap Restore purchases in Settings › Subscription or on the Pro screen.

How do I manage or cancel my subscription?

  • In the App, open Settings › Subscription › Manage subscription.
  • Or open the Settings app › your name › Subscriptions, and choose Graphica Playground.

Cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period to avoid being charged for the next one. Lifetime is a one-time purchase and has nothing to cancel.

How do I get a refund?

Purchases are processed by Apple, so refunds are handled by Apple. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.

How do I use my own API key?

Using your own API key requires Pro.

  1. In Settings › Generation engine, choose Your API Key.
  2. Enter the Endpoint of an OpenAI-compatible API (for example https://api.openai.com/v1; the App calls /chat/completions under it), the Model name, and your API key, then tap Save key.

The key is stored in the iOS Keychain on your device and is sent only to the endpoint you entered. Your provider bills you directly for usage. To delete the key, tap Remove key. Do this before deleting the App if you want the key gone, because iOS may keep Keychain items after an app is deleted.

Where are my shaders stored?

Only on your device. The App has no account and does not sync to iCloud, so deleting the App deletes your shaders. See the Privacy Policy for details.
