Graphica Playground Terms of Use

These Terms govern your use of the Graphica Playground app for iPhone and iPad ("the App"), provided by an individual developer, touyou ("we", "us"). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms.

1. Apple's Standard EULA

The App is licensed to you under Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement ("Standard EULA"). These Terms supplement the Standard EULA. If they conflict, the Standard EULA prevails.

2. The App

  • The App generates Metal shaders from a text description, lets you adjust them, and lets you export them as code.
  • The App is free to download. The free tier includes a daily generation allowance and a limited number of saved shaders, as shown in the App.
  • Generation engines: On-Device (Apple's on-device model), Offline Templates (no AI), Your API Key (a provider you configure; Pro), and Studio (Apple Private Cloud Compute), which is shown as "Coming soon" and is not available in the current version. If the selected engine is unavailable, the App falls back to another engine and finally to Offline Templates.

3. Graphica Playground Pro

Pro unlocks the features described in the App, such as code export, an unlimited library, unlimited generation, custom colours, additional presets, version history, and using your own API key. Pro is offered as:

  • Monthly — an auto-renewable subscription;
  • Annual — an auto-renewable subscription;
  • Lifetime — a one-time, non-renewing purchase.

Prices are shown in the App and on the App Store before you buy and may vary by country or region.

3.1 Auto-renewable subscriptions

  • Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase.
  • The subscription renews automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
  • Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
  • You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple Account settings (Settings › your name › Subscriptions), or from Settings › Subscription › Manage subscription in the App. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period.
  • If a free trial is offered, any unused portion of the trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.

3.2 Lifetime purchase

Lifetime is charged once to your Apple Account and does not renew. It remains available on devices signed in to the same Apple Account.

3.3 Restoring purchases and refunds

  • You can restore previous purchases with Restore purchases in the App, using the same Apple Account you purchased with.
  • Purchases are processed by Apple, and refunds are handled by Apple under its policies. You can request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.

4. AI Generation

  • Generated shaders are produced automatically. They may not match your description, may look different than expected, or may resemble other works. We do not guarantee the result.
  • Do not enter descriptions that infringe the rights of others or that violate the law.
  • If you use your own API key, the requests are sent to the provider you configure. Any fees charged by that provider, and compliance with its terms, are your responsibility.

5. Your Shaders and Exported Code

  • We claim no ownership of the descriptions you enter or the shaders you create with the App.
  • You may use shader code you export from the App, including code based on the App's built-in presets and templates, in your own apps and projects. You are responsible for how you use it, including checking it for your purposes.
  • Your shaders are stored only on your device (see the Privacy Policy). We cannot recover them if they are lost.

6. Disclaimers

  • The App is provided as is. To the extent permitted by law, we make no warranty, express or implied, as to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted operation.
  • Except in cases of intentional misconduct or gross negligence, we are not liable for damages arising from use of the App, loss of data, or generated or exported code.
  • The same applies to failures caused by outages or changes of external services, such as Apple, RevenueCat, or the AI provider you configure.

7. Changes to the App and These Terms

We may change, add to, or discontinue features of the App. We may revise these Terms; the revised Terms take effect when they are published on this page.

8. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan. Any disputes arising out of the App are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Tokyo District Court as the court of first instance.
